Tell us about one of the projects you're tackling today (September 25).
This is the week of our Indiana Employee Health and Wellness Summit (held September 26-27), which has grown to be one of our largest conferences throughout the year. I'm going through the set-up of the meeting and reviewing last-minute details with the hotel.
Describe yourself in three words.
Mom - I'm a mom first before anything else. Driven. Funny.
Describe the value Indiana Chamber conferences and programs bring to members.
Our team puts together approximately 50 training seminars throughout the year. We also have three major conferences (Indiana Employee Health and Wellness Summit; Human Resources Conference & Expo; Indiana Safety and Health Conference & Expo) and special events.
Our key focus is to bring Indiana employers the regulatory compliance information they need to know as well as how to comply with those regulations. For example, this year we offered seminars on the most up to date and current information on OSHA standards, health care reform and other workplace laws.
It's timely information and ultimately impacts our attendees' bottom lines.
What makes your job rewarding?
I love working with my team and with extraordinary Chamber staff. I also love working with our partners and speaker to put together a program, like the Annual Awards Dinner. We work so hard on it and when it comes off successfully, that really is what excites me.
