Then, I work with Nick Luchtefeld on customer service, making sure that our processes are helpful to the customers and as seamless as possible, and ensuring that Nick has the tools to solve any of the few problems that may come through. I also work with Laura Bliss on Wellness Council of Indiana and Indiana Chamber (projects), making sure that procedures and systems are in place, and help out with various reports and information gathering for the marketing department.
You have to be detail oriented for success in your job. How do you keep yourself organized?
I love the iPad. Currently, I've been playing with the TimesheeterHD app. There not only are various to-do lists, but also project management apps out there. They even have post-it apps. That's really become a cornerstone (for me) and it flows out beyond work with three kids at home as well.
You supervise several employees. Describe your management style.
I give everyone the freedom to learn on their own and to develop the freedom to change. We don't work from a "That's how we've always done it" approach. If you can find a better way to do it, then do it.
What's the best part of your job?
Variety. Every day, it's something different.
Fall is here! What are a few of your favorite things to do this time of year?
All three of my kids are in sports and sometimes I coach - that's always fun. And any time you can get tools out (for outdoor projects), it's a good day.
Who do you look up to?
My dad. As I get older, I'm much more appreciative of all that he did. And I would be remiss if I didn't say my wife.
